Q1 What is SAT II Chinese Mock
Test?
A: SAT II
Chinese Mock Test is a practice test similar to the real test, which is one of
the 10 "Foreign Languages" for college applicants to select.
Q2 What is the difference
between the Mock test and the real test?
A: In order to
prepare the students for the real SAT II Chinese test, the Mock test tries to
match the real test. The test format is
the same to the real test. The test
questions are prepared by experts who have studied thoroughly and have obtained
the master knowledge of the real SAT II Chinese test. The Mock test is generally slightly more difficult than the real
test. In other words, if a student do
well on the Mock test, he/she will most likely do well on the real test.
Q3 What is the purpose to
conduct this Mock test?
A: The purpose of the SAT II Chinese Mock Test is
to promote the learning of Chinese Language and understanding of the Chinese Culture,
to prepare the students for a real SAT Chinese test and to measure the quality
of Chinese School Education. For this
reason, the CSAUS SAT II Chinese Mock Test committee has decided to let the
test site to keep the tape and other test materials and let the students to
keep the test booklet this year.
Q4 Who are eligible to register
for the Mock test?
A: Any
person who want to measure his/her Chinese Language skills can register for the
test. In reality, since the real SAT
Chinese is to be taken later in the high school, we do not recommend students
that under 12 year old to take the mock test.
Q5
How big a test site
should be? Is there any restrictions?
A: There is no limit on the size of the test
site. It is recommended to hold no more than 20 students each test room.
Q6
What a Chinese school
needs to do to become a test site?
A: Every
Chinese school is encouraged to organize the mock test as a test site. You just
need to register with CSAUS showing you are planning to do that. Some suggestions and guidelines:

the fee to charge to your students to cover the cost, and collect it before you
can send the required amount ($20 + $6 x No. Students) for test materials.

Q8 Why CSAUS is to charge for the
Mock SAT Chinese test?
A: CSAUS
and HCS are non-profit educational organizations, run by all volunteers. We
just need to collect the minimized fee to help cover the cost, in order to
develop the test materials, audio tapes, test booklet printing, and mailing,
etc. The test fee is determined with reference to the same project in the past. We are trying to get financial supports from
outside sources, otherwise the cost would be higher.
